Sorry for the delay in helping those of you with queries.. my modem had a
disagreement with a bolt of lightening and what was really annoying was the
lack of accompanying rain to help ease the drought.
Go to the web site
http://catalogue.pro.gov.uk/
then go to search
the next screen gives you the options of three boxes,
1. keyword (put in the surname or place name but remember that Pickering
will produce both the people from the town as well as people with that
surname)
2 I've been leaving the date part blank and
3 in the catalogue part I've put WO for the specific cataologue to do with
the War Office.
