A proud family who did not want it to be known that they sent a child to an
orphanage?

Subject: [YKS] change of name
If an illegitimate child, whose parents' names are known, who has a birth
name, is put in an orphanage, what reasons would there be for giving this
child a completely different name? which name he used for the rest of his
life.
We are stumped and I can come up with no sensible suggestion.
The one suggestion I have made up to now is to actually go and read the
original documents where the information about the names came from. Other
than that I couldn't think of anything.
