I was privileged to be able to attend the Yorksgen Dinner on Friday night
( Thank you to Anne and Conrad for organising it. )

Despite what Conrad says re pronunciation in 'Ilkla Moor' everyone seemed to
get "Duck" and other essential Yorkshire pronunciations absolutely spot on
!! I hope that Jan gets the tape recording up online soon so that all can
hear it !! I thought it was pretty good , although I was relieved that Jan
didn't wave the tape recorder under my nose !!

For me the best part of the whole evening was meeting face to face, in the
flesh, my internet friends. I now know exactly who Magdalena is ( the
feather boa DID suit you !! ) , Margaret, Conrad ( What beautiful blond hair
you have ........and the red ribbons just finished off the look ) , Herbert
( you so good looking that I can see why Rosslyn fell for your charms ) ,
Brenda ( wonderful to meet you at LONG last !!) , Macha ( who handed over
personally some GEN that we have chatted online about....Thank you ), and
all the others........ BUT BEST of all was being able to meet Nancy ( and
Peter ) , Sara McGinlay, Sue Rylands and Jane Lachs, who I have been
chatting to via MSN for quite a long time about every subject under the sun
and who I had never met. It was the highlight of my evening. It was
particularly mind blowing to be chatting face to face with Nancy after she
had travelled from New Zealand ......it was weird not be saying Good Morning
to her as I went home to bed !! For me meeting my Yorksgen friends made me
realise that Yorksgen is more than just another mailing list and that it was
worth fighting for earlier this year !! You really are a wonderful bunch of
people.

A special Thank You goes to Steve Whitaker and Jan Wood, who attended one of
my Birthday Parties last night in Leeds. We had a FAB night and I was
thrilled to pieces that you were there to share it with me. Now I am off to
enjoy my final 2 and a half hours of being 29 !!!

Best Wishes

Jus :-)

You're a great bunch, and I think we did our bit
