I forgot to mention there is the public Ysearch database where you'd get
lots of exposure if looking for near matches.

There is the I2a Project (link below) which includes i2a2 where you can have
your haplotype in database of others of your haplogroup. I'd recommend it.
Your DYS464 values are very unusual and could help you identify genetic
relatives.

I have added your haplotype to my private research database for haplogroup I

Thanks, Ken.. this is all so interesting! Can you recommend a good website
to collaborate results with others?

Yes, you have a classic I2a2a-Dinaric haplotype, not only M423+ but also
L69+ if you chose to do that last snp. Not necessary, however.
The Dinaric nickname is very old and goes back to the hotspot for this
haplogroup being Bosnia, Croatia area. This haplogroup is definately
Eastern Europe and found from Greece in the south up to southern Poland and
Ukraine in the north
This haplogroup is very young, considering its wide distribution and size.
Founder of the haplogroup lived about 2500 years ago.

There seems to be a clash of nomenclature. M423+ would be I2a2, and in your
case I2a2a-Dinaric most likely given the geography, although it is not
impossible you are an I2a2b-Isles of the old clade B which is seen in
Germany now and then.
I2a1 is M26+, M26 being a different snp than your M423+
Can you show us your haplotype? That will tell for sure.

Subject: [yDNAhgI] New to the group
Hi Everyone,
I was recommended to this group by a friend. Just today I received my
results for my Y-DNA genetic test and I belong to Haplogroup I. Here are the
specifics that the website tells me:
Haplogroup: I-M170Subgroup: I2a1-M423
A little background on my direct line paternal ancestors. My last name is
Hungarian in origin (Gombash) and used to be spelled Gombás in Hungary.. it
translates to mean 'mushroom' of 'fungus'.
My great-grandfather immigrated to America in 1909 and starting with him, I
have 7 generations of Gombás. They all lived in a moderate-sized town called
Büdszentmihály in the old Szabolcs county of Hungary. The town is now called
Tiszavasvári.
The oldest Gombás I have in my database is György Gombás born about 1696 and
died 19 Apr 1776 in Büdszentmihály.
