Hi Everyone,
I was recommended to this group by a friend. Just today I received my results for my Y-DNA genetic test and I belong to Haplogroup I. Here are the specifics that the website tells me:

Haplogroup: I-M170Subgroup: I2a1-M423
A little background on my direct line paternal ancestors. My last name is Hungarian in origin (Gombash) and used to be spelled Gombás in Hungary.. it translates to mean 'mushroom' of 'fungus'.
My great-grandfather immigrated to America in 1909 and starting with him, I have 7 generations of Gombás. They all lived in a moderate-sized town called Büdszentmihály in the old Szabolcs county of Hungary. The town is now called Tiszavasvári.
The oldest Gombás I have in my database is György Gombás born about 1696 and died 19 Apr 1776 in Büdszentmihály.
