Hattie Moore Shriver, 87, of Daybrook, died Monday (Sept. 9, 1991). She was
born in Daybrook, April 25, 1904, a daughter of the late Jacob L. and Sarah
Henderson Moore.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford C. Shriver, on Feb. 6,
1974.
She is survived by two sons, Dennie and Ronald "Flitch" Shriver; one
daughter, Mrs. Alberta Wise; one brother, John R. Moore; two sisters,
Margaret Wilson and Maxine Snodgrass; seven grandchildren and four great
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters. She was a member
of the Daybrook Church of Christ.
Burial was at Daybrook Cemetery.

Helen Levaugh Tennant, 70, of Rt. 1 Spraggs, Pa., died at 1:55 p.m. Thursday
(May 24, 1990) at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown. She was born
Dec. 28, 1919, at Daybrook, a daughter of Snowie M. Moore of Fairview and the
late J.A. "Jim" Moore.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband, Learney D. Tennant,
Jr., whom she married Sept. 15, 1939; four daughters, Mrs. Gary (Jane)
Stiles, Mrs. Stanley (Brenda) Smith, Mrs. Fernando (Lynnette) Ramirez and
Mrs. Thomas (Jenene) Coleman; one son, L. Douglas Tennant; three sisters,
Mrs. Ruth Gelston, Roberta Moore and Mrs. Fred (Patty) Lemley; two brothers,
Jimmy C. Moore and Raymond Moore; 13 grandchildren and five great
grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Alfred D. Moore.
She spent her early life in Daybrook and has resided in the Spraggs area
since 1952. She was a graduate of Daybrook High School Class of 1938. She was
a homemaker. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in
Waynesburg, Pa.
Burial was at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Pentress.

Icie Moore Tennant, 91, of Hopewell, Va., and formerly of Fairview, died
Monday Feb. 29, 1988 in Hopewell. She was born Sept. 25, 1896, in
Mooresville, daughter of the late Nimrod and Sarah Moore.
Her husband Asa Dee Tennant, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Freeman Tennant and Adrian Mike Tennant; two
daughters, Mary Lemley and Velma Doris Tennant; six grandchildren and 11
great grandchildren.
One son, one daughter, two brothers and one sister are also deceased.
Burial was at St. Luke Cemetery


John R. Moore, 85, of Daybrook, died Friday (Aug. 15, 1997) at Fairmont
General Hospital. He was born July 3, 1912, a son of the late Jacob and Sarah
Moore.
He was a farmer and a former operator of the Daybrook Store. He was a member
of the Daybrook Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Moore; four sons, Royal
"Measle" Moore, Roger Moore, Wilbert "Jade" Moore and Johnny Moore; four
daughters, Rose Moore, Nancy Statler, Judith "Bird" Sine and Carolyn "Kay"
Wilson; 23 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren and one great-great
grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Faye Moore, seven
sisters, Lottie Wilson, Marg Wilson, Pearl Tennant,, Hattie Shriver, Cassie
Tennant, Olive Moore and Maxine Snodgrass.
Burial was at Daybrook Cemetery.

Learney D. Moore, 89, of Waynesburg, died Friday, August 12, 1983, following
an eight month illness.
He was born Sept. 9, 1893 in Daybrook Wv, the son of Simon P. and Lucinda
Wilson Moore.
His early life was spent in the Daybrook area, and for the past 59 years he
had lived in Waynesburg. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Daybrook
and was employed by Peoples Natural Gas Co. for 28 years, retiring in 1955.
His first wife, Grace Hughes Moore died in Oct. 1939. Surviving from that
marriage are; a daughter, Wilda Rush; three sons, Ira, Donald E. and Keith A
Moore, 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Also surviving is his
second wife, Erma Tennant Moore, whom he married Dec. 6, 1941.
He was the last of his immediate family.
Burial was made in the Daybrook Cemetery.

Lessie "Grace" Moore Spragg, 93, of Daybrook, died Sunday Sept. 7, 1997 at
Fairmont General Hospital.
She was born Aug. 18, 1904, in Daybrook, a daughter of the late Simon and
Alena Tennant Moore.
She was one of the last switchboard operators in the United States, operating
the Daybrook Switchboard for 25 years. She attended the Daybrook Church of
Christ.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Alena "Lue" and Delbert Mason
of Daybrook; a daughter-in-law, Dorotha "Dot" Haught Spragg of Fairview; five
grandchildren, Brenda Mason Kuhn, Fred Mason, Billie Jean Spragg, LuAnn
Spragg Lemley and Becky Spragg Matheny; 10 great grandchildren; and six
great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson
Burl Spragg, who died in 1977; and her son, Billy. She was the last survivor
of her parents' 10 children.
Burial was at the Daybrook Cemetery.

Lily Maxine "Granny Mae" Snodgrass, 81, of Daybrook, Monongalia County, died
Sunday (May 18, 1997) at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown. She was
born Aug. 9, 1915, in Daybrook, a daughter of the late Jacob and Sarah Moore.
Her husband, Richard Snodgrass, preceded her in death Dec. 12, 1994.
She was a homemaker and was retired as a Dutch Maid sales Associate. She
attended Daybrook Wesleyen Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Gwendolyn Soiliar and Susan Snodgrass; two
sons and daughter-in-laws, Rudt "Tink" and Michelle Snodgrass and Fred "Pete"
and Debbie Snodgrass. She is also survived by six grandchildren and two
step-grandchildren.
She is also preceded in death by a brother, six sisters and a granddaughter,
Rebecca Jo Snodgrass.
Burial was at Daybrook Cemetery

Margaret Jane Wilson, 96, of Fairview, died Saturday Feb. 8, 1997 at MonPoint
Continuing Care Center, Morgantown. She was born March 27, 1900 in Daybrook,
a daughter of the late Jacob andd Sarah Henderson Moore. Her husband, Wilbert
Gay Wilson, preceded her in death in Jan. 1968.
She was a member of the Wesley Methodist Church, Daybrook, and attended the
Washington Street Church of Christ in Fairview.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Iolene Dale and John Santee, a
brother, John R. Moore; a sister, Maxine Snodgrass, four grandchildren and
nine great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a
daughter, Ruthalene Wilson Cook; a brother and five sisters.
Burial was made in the Daybrook Cemetery.

Olive (Bucky) Moore, 67, of Ravenswood, formerly of Daybrook, died Wednesday
in the West Virginia University Hospital. She was born at Daybrook on Aug. 5,
1908, a daughter of the late Jacob L. and Sarah Henderson Moore.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Edgar (Gloria) Gump; two granddaughters
and a grandson, two great grandchildren, two brothers, Joe Moore and John
Moore; four sisters, Margaret Wilson, Cassie Tennant, Hattie Shriver and
Maxine Snodgrass.

Phyllis Gum
Phyllis Carolyn Gum, 76, of 109 Mohawk Drive, Barrackville, died Saturday,
April 1, 2000, at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg.
She was born Nov. 11, 1923, in Fairview, daughter of the late Bill and Ossie
Moore.
She was a homemaker. She was a Christian and a member of St. Paul’s Baptist
Church in Fairview. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends,
flower gardens and traveling.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ivan Carl Gum; three daughters
and spouses, James and Mabel Shaner, of Uniontown, Pa., Ossie Kline and Pete
and Julia Ozie, all of Fairmont; a brother, the Rev. Gilbert Moore, and his
wife, Elizabeth, of Lander , N.Y.; eight grandchildren, Shawn Shaner, Darenda
Moore, Bill Gum, Jeff Gum, Marla Leary, Carl Haught, Kristie Latocha and
Patrick Ozie; and 11 great-grandchildren, Dustin Moore, Nakita Moore, Lauren
Haught, Evan Haught, Ariel Leary, Alex Gum, Hunter Gu m, Brandon Latocha,
Karlee Latocha, Peyton Ozie and Dylan Ozie.
She was also preceded in death by a son, William Carl Gum; six brothers,
Harold Moore, Herbert Moore, Robert Wayne Moore, Jack Moore, James Moore and
Joseph Moore; and four sisters, Wanda Mourey, Wilda Tennant, Garnet Moore and
Madalyn Wolfe.
Friends may call at Domico Funeral Home, Curry Chapel, Fairview, from 1:30-9
p.m. Monday and from 11 a.m. Tuesday, until the 1:30 p.m. service Tuesday,
April 4, with the Rev. Larry Harker officiating. Burial will be in Daybrook
Cemetery.

Snowie Jane Moore, 98, of Fairview, died Saturday (August 1, 1998) at Wishing
Well Manor, Fairmont. Born July 1, 1900, she is the daughter of Enos and
Lottie Henderson Moore. Her husband Josephus "Jim" Moore preceded her in
death.
Survivors include five children, Aldena Ruth Gelston, Jimmy Carl Moore,
Raymond Moore, Roberta Flo Moore and Patty Lou Lemley; 17 grandchildren, 29
great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death are a daughter, Helen Levaughn Tennant; a son,
Alfred Don Moore; two sisters, Iva Mrytle Wilson and Sarah Ethel Wilson and a
grandchild.
Burial was at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Pentress.

Vivian L. Caldwell
Vivian L. Caldwell, 70, of Richeyville, Pa. died Wednesday Oct. 10, 2001, in
Washington County (Pa.) Health Center, following a lengthy illness.

She was born Jan. 15, 1931, in Jakes Run, daughter of the late Francis Marion
and Audie Eddy Moore.

She was retired and most recently worked as a receiving clerk at Value City
until 1995. She was Methodist.

She is survived by four sons, David Caldwell, of Brownsville, Pa., Russell
Caldwell, of El Paso, Texas, Howard Caldwell, of Fort Valley, Va., and Donald
Caldwell, of Front Royal, Va.; two daughters, Patricia Sutton, of Warner
Robins, Ga., and Barbara Tylus, of Cokeburg, Pa.; a brother, Raymond C.
Moore, of Warren, Mich.; two sisters, Jean Westfall, of Washington, Pa., and
Alberta Kennedy, of Burton; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Caldwell; six brothers,
Clifford, Robert, Paul, Rex, Don and Billy Moore; and three sisters, Aldine
Moore, Betty Lou Moore, and Faye Campbell.

Winnie C. Moore Wilson, 88, of Fairmont died Saturday (Jan. 30, 1988) at 3:33
a.m. at Wishingwell Health Center. She was born Jan. 25, 1900 in Monongalia
County, daughter of the late Eugenus and Permelia Shriver Moore.
Her husband M. Kelly Wilson, to whom she was married for 63 years, died May
16, 1986.
Survivors include; three daughters, Mantie Fluharty, Bonnie Barth and
Virginia Casebolt; one brother, Claude "Singer" Moore; one sister; Drusie
Moore; eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ of Morgantown.
Burial was made in the Daybrook Cemetery.


Winona L. "Granny" Moore Brewer 68 of Core, died Saturday, March 12, 1994 at
Monongalia General Hospital. She was born Jan 8, 1925 at Daybrook, daughter
of the late Joe and Minnie Wilson Moore. She is survived by a son, Charles
Brewer of Cherry Tree, Pa, three daughters, Mrs. Delbert E. (Lola L.) Ammons,
of Fairview, Mrs. Joy S. "Tuffy" Henderson of Core, Mrs. Janet L. "Tink"
Kennedy of Blacksville, two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Wanita) Cryne of Waynesburg,
Pa, and Mrs. Helen Varner of Elkton, Maryland, 12 grandchildren, two step
grandchildren and five great grandsons.
