Hi Donna,

Thanks for caring enough to ask. This is a problem because food is followed by bugs and rodents, and they can destroy archival materials. Most states do not mix the two. Also, the state just spent 3.7 million dollars on a cafeteria in the Capitol basement, and it's a few hundred yards away. If they want a gift shop, it could go in the Cultural Center basement with the museum, which is now being renovated.

Can you explain why this is a problem? Wouldn't that help pay for
the Cultural Center? I'm not trying to be difficult. I just don't
