Anita,

I only checked the Fayette Co. death records at the court-house for Ruth Ellen's death. Could she have died in Raleigh Co. since her son Dodridge had lived in Raleigh Co.? It probablly be a good idea to check the death records in the court house in Raleigh Co. Since we don't know if she was still living when Syl was shot, I would look thru the death records from 1880 on. It just seems strange that there is no record of her death. It also would be a good idea to check out the Fayette Tribune for an obit for Syl. He died on March 12, 1910 and the news article about the shooting was not published until March 17, five days after the shooting. Was this paper only published once a week or was it published every day? I don't know.

I have been researching my Woodrum family for over 10 years and have not come accross any other Woodrum descendants researching this branch. It would be nice if someone could help us by answering the question about what happened to Ruth.
