LEWISBURG - An archivist for the Greenbrier Historical Society has
discovered rare documents signed by former Presidents Thomas Jefferson and
James Monroe when they were governors of Virginia.The documents - dating as
far back as 1779 - also include one signed by Patrick Henry, another
governor made famous a year before the Declaration of Independence for
stating, "Give me liberty or give me death."
