Hi Everyone,
I have been on the list for awhile but afraid to post questions as I am a
beginner and not to sure which questions to ask, maybe I'll get up the nerve
soon. Anyhow here is some information that might be of interest to someone,
I have had this clipping for many years and am not sure of my connection to
it.
Taken from the MIAMI HERALD pg 5 B August 10, 1971
TWO IN 80s SHOOT IT OUT, BOTH KILLED
KANSAS CITY, MO. (UPI)
Two octogenerian men shot each other to death in an argument during a poker
game.
The men, OLLIE WILLIAMS, 87, and CHARLES (CHALKIE) WRIGHT, 81, were playing
poker with two women, aged 40 and 64. Police said an argument started when
one of the women started bragging about beating the other one at cards.
Police said Wright finally drew a gun and Williams ran into the kitchen and
also got a gun. Several shots were fired by each man and both were dead at
the scene when police arrived.
The shooting happened at the home of Houston Moore, 87, also a participant in
the poker game
I hope this will be of interest to someone.
Sincerely, Gloria
