You might try looking southward, as an awful lot of Woodcock's moved south.
My husband's grandfather, Jobe Smith Woodcock was born in Lake Butler, Fl,
his brother Thomas Herod Woodcock, in Duvall Co (Jacksonville, I believe)
Florida. So far we have not been able to trace them past their own
generation, other then finding Jobe at one time in Naylor, Loundes Co, Ga,
with his wife & 4 daughters. Jobe was born 8/4/1877, d:10/19/1963, in
Panama City, Fl.
Georgia seems to be full of Woodcocks, so I'm thinking that Jobe's father,
Benjamin Franklin Woodcock, was probably born & raised there.

There is a Woodcock Reunion set for October 11, 03 in Myrtle Beach, SC,
and all Woodcock's are welcome to attend. People will gather at Angelo's
Restaurant at 5pm for a get-together meal. Reservations to be made at Wave
Rider Resort (which offers a discount for the group). The person to contact
by e-mail is Edward Breland . He is the person
working on our Woodcock line.
He is a very nice person, and will help you in any way he can. Happy
