For those of you who are looking for information on the Woodcock family
in Missouri, The following information may be of interest ( I certainly
did ):
February 17th, 1819
"Know ye, That, in pursuance of the Acts of Congress appropriating and
granting land to the late Army of the United States, passed on and since
the sixth day of May, 1812, Aaron Woodcock having deposited in the
General Land Office a Warrant in his favor numbered 3714 there is
granted unto the said Aaron Woodcock late a private in Ramsey's Co., 1st
Regiment of Riflemen a certain tract of land containing one hundred and
sixty acres being the NE1/4 of Section Thirty One of Township Fifty
Three No in Range Eighteen in the Tract appropriated (by the Acts
aforesaid) for Military Bounties, in the Territory of Missouri. To have
and to hold the said Quarter Section of land with the appurtenances
thereof, unto the said Aaron Woodcock and his heirs and assigns
forever."
In addition to Aaron, there are similar documents for the following:

The web site is www.glorecords.blm.gov/ The files are stored as TIF
images. There are a very limited number of states available for search
now, but the data provided is superb. Be patient - the server is a bit
slow.
