Ann has asked her Isham WETHERINGTONs be posted for review. Isham b NC,
moved to & md Angelina NEWTON, d/o Wm NEWTON in GA. Family moved from GA to
AR in the mid-1870s. They were living in Hot Spring(s) Co, Arkansas, in
1880.

In the summer of 1923, age 75, Isham returned to Georgia to visit & died
while visiting in Echols County. His body was returned to Arkansas to be
buried beside his wife.

Generation No. 1

1. ISHAM3 WETHERINGTON (PETER2, PETER1) was born 1848 in North Carolina1,
and died September 4, 1923 in Echols Co., GA; buried Hot Spring Co., AR2. He
married ANGELINA NEWTON 1872 in Georgia, daughter of WILLIAM NEWTON and
MARGARET STRINGFIELD. She was born March 8, 1851 in Lowndes Co., GA, and
died September 23, 1900 in Hot Spring Co., AR3.

Notes for ISHAM WETHERINGTON:
In the mid-1870s, Isham and Angelina joined her three sisters and their
families on a migration to Arkansas. They were living in Hot Spring County,
Arkansas, in 1880.
On the 21st of June, 1900, they lived in Manchester, Dallas County,
Arkansas, with five of their children. Isham owned their farm, free of
mortgage. He and three of their sons worked the farm. Angelina told the
census taker that she had given birth to 13 children, and that 8 were living
in 1900. She and Isham had been married 29 years. Angelina died within the

On 19 October 1905, Isham registered 120 acres at the Land Office in Little
Rock.
In January 1920, Isham was living with the family of his youngest son, Ira,
on a farm outside Caddo, Clark County, Arkansas. The census taker recorded:
Ira Wetherington, age 28, born Arkansas, father born Georgia, mother born
Georgia, farmer; Lizzie, wife, age 27, born Arkansas, as were both parents;
Isham Wetherington, father, age 70, born Georgia, father born Georgia,
mother born South Carolina, no occupation; Julia, daughter, age 8, born
Arkansas, as were parents, attended school in year; Elda, daughter, age age
5, born Arkansas; Elmer, son, age 4 months, born Arkansas. Source: 1920

family. He died while visiting in Echols County. His body was returned to

In June 1900, Charley was living in Manchester, Clark County, Arkansas, with
his wife of 5 years, Fannie, and 6 step-children. He had no children of his

1910 found Charley and Fannie still living in Manchester. Five houses away,

Notes for JAMES R. WETHERINGTON:
In 1910, James R. and Martha were living with their family in Manchester,
Clark County, Arkansas, five houses away from his brother Charley and his
family. Martha told the census taker that she had given birth to 7 children
and that 3 were living in 1910. Martha's father and sister also lived with

In January 1920, Ira and his family lived on a farm outside Caddo, Clark
