I just have to share my "find" while rummaging through shelves and boxes at
the DeKalb Co, Tenn. courthouse basement before they turned out the lights on
me. Does anyone know who Jasper Wilder, Franklin Wilder,
Willis Jackson and Josephine Graham are?

DEKALB CO, TENN. COUNTY COURT RECORDS
Minutes April Term, 7th day of April 1879, Page 200
Jasper Wilder vs. Wm. Wilder et als
Expartee petitions to sell land
Be it remembered that this cause came on for hearing and was heard on this
the 7th day of April 1879 before Bethel Cantrell a petitioning(?) Attorney of
this case, who has been duly & constitutively called and appointed to hear
and determine this cause. His Honor Judge Hollis being incompetent to make
any order in said cause on account of being related to some of the parties.
It appears to the satisfaction of the Court that the lands mentioned in the
pleadings had been sold by E. J. Evans, former Clerk of this court, and that
J. B. CLAYBORN, JAMES T. CLAYBORN became the purchasers, and gave their
notes on 12 and 24 months time, except $93.00, which they paid in cash to said
clerk. It further appears that both of said notes were overdue, that judgment
has been taken on the first note, and that no steps have been taken to
collect the last note, which is still in the hands of E. J. Evans, who is not
taking any steps to collect the same. It is therefore ordered by the court that
said E. J. Evans immediately hand over said note to the present clerk of this
Court and further that said E. J. Evans pay over to the present Clerk of
this Court the $93.00 paid to him by said purchasers less his fees in the cause.
It further appearing that no fee had been allowed Clark & Wade for their
services in this cause, it is therefore ordered by the court that this cause be
referred to the Clerk of this Court. That he take proof and report
instantes, if practical, and if not--to the next term of this Court, what would be a
reasonable fee for Clark & Wade for their services in this cause.
