Regarding KRAUSE, my ancestor Alfred G. b.16 Jan 1885 in Watertown, Jefferson Co. according to his death certificate here in Duluth and father listed as Fredrick A. Krause and mother as Anetta Stene. I believe Fredrick=August (his middle name?) and Anetta's last name is STEEN. Her birthplace is listed as Norway. I found an unidentified article using google for Steen and it mentioned a Peter Steen and wife Henrietta with a daughter Annette who married a August Krause on 16 Sep 1865 in Mauston (Juneau) who was a blacksmith from New Lisbon and parents were August Fred Krause and Henrietta. There was a reference to other Steens who lived in the Necedah and Lindina areas.

I am currently searching Jefferson Co. censuses for Krause and trying to find a match for August and/or Fredrick etc. I'm hoping the obits I requested for Krause will give me some more clues. Will keep my fingers crossed.
