Dear Rooters, I thought you might be interested in a group which I've
recently linked into the main Whillans line.
I recently corresponded about this sub-group to June Willing who manages the
One Name Study for Willing & Willings, but her interest hasn't extended into
Scotland - it's unfortunately based in Devon & its neighbouring counties.
Here goes:

John Whillans/Whillins, grandson of James Whillans (of the title).
(PD0C-PN, b1772 Castletown).
John = Mary Geddes/Jiddess/Juddes [(PD0C-QT)] ca1795.
Ten chn, eldest below.

(PD0C-R1, b1792). Aged 50yo when +1850 (b~1799).
Hyp that same as John Willians who = Catharine Campbell on 29may1816 at
Canongate Edinburgh, on the basis that both a gdau W-13131 and a niece
W-1388 were named Catharine Campbell.
Also hyp to be the grocer John Willins in Peebles who had his ³Inventory,
Disposition and Settlement² read on 16mar1847 at Peebles Sheriff Court
{www.scottishdocuments.com/, SC42/20/5, 13p}.

b~1818, c22aug1817 as John Willins at Traquair Peebles (10km SE of Peebles)
pa John Willins.
John Willins = on 25apr1854 to Marion Turnbull at Peebles in Peebles, and
reared 3 dau & one son.[3] He +22mar1861 at Peebles aged 42yo {1861,
768/4} while master of burgh school at Peebles, pa merchant John Willins (+)
ma Catherine Willins m¹n Campbell (+) and notified by bro Angus Willins at
Athelstansford of East Lothian.
This feasibly may be the same John Willins who = Marion Thomson on 16jun1843
some 11 years earlier at Peebles in Peebles. [Marion Willins b~1825 as 65yo
at Penicuik during 1891; Marion Willins (or Turnbull) of High Street Peebles
+13jul1898 testate at Peebles and had her testament read on 10oct1898 &
03dec1898 at the Peebles Sheriff Court {www.scottishdocuments.com/}].

Jessie Catharine Willins
b19feb1855 (Peebles, 29km W of Melrose, 34km S of Edinburgh).
Listed as 50yo b~1840(!) at Penicuik (14km S of Edinburgh) during 1891
census {697 05 001}.
Jessie Catherine Willins of High Street Peebles +18dec1894 intestate at
Peebles; her lack of will was considered on 05nov1896 at the Peebles Sheriff

Hyp to be the John Willins ³M.B., C.M.² of Penicuik (14km S of Edinburgh,
20km N of Peebles) who +25dec1895 testate at Edinburgh and had his testament
read on 24oct1896 at the Edinburgh Sheriff Court

35yo Angus Willins (b~1827) of High St Peebles = 37yo Sarah Middleton Goldie
of Biggar on 05jun1863 at Greenhill Bank of Morningside Edinburgh with a
Church of Scotland Licentiate (licensed preacher not yet having
appointment), Angus¹ parents were John Willins ma Catherine m¹n Campbell
(both +). [pa William Goldie (+, minister of Crawfordjohn parish) ma Ann
Goldie].
Angus Willins, minister of parish of Whalsay and Skerries, had his testament
read on 06nov1872 at Lerwick (Shetland) Sheriff Court Inventories
