Haven't posted for some time (actually thought the list was defunct
until yesterday's posting).

Mary Martha WAYNE gave birth in (probably northern) MD in 1882 to a son,
Ernest Alfred WAYNE. Mary was unwed at the time of Ernie's birth. Mary
later married a man whose surname was Torbert and had two daughters --
Clara & Margaret.
Ernie married Rose Elizabeth Ward (d/o James & Mary Myers Ward)about
1910 and they settled in Chanceford Twp, York Co, PA. They had nine
children, all of whom resided in York Co. Ernie died in 1969 in Red
Lion, York Co.
Have talked to the elders of the family -- was like pulling teeth. Had
to get Mary's name from Ernie's death cert. I'm guessing Mary's DOB to
be mid 1860s. Do not know if she lived in MD or was sent there to have
her child. Checked with MD records -- they said before 1910 or so, need
to check church records. Family says these people were not church
goers.
Any ideas? I could use all the help I can get on this line. Thanks.
