Many thanks to Jacqui and Mike for supplying my Lost URL for the VCHs etc...
It's now "safely" back in my Favourites.

But as to whether the VCH is Absolutely Authoritative is perhaps another
matter... All one can really say is that around 60 years ago - when it went
to press - the consensus of scholarly belief was that it was then St Edith,
and apparently 'always' had been.

As a number of Things have changed since those happier[?] days - County
Boundaries for one, to say nothing of 'Rationalisations' of CofE Parishes -
that a tiny thing like the spelling of a church's dedicatee can well get
lost in the upheavals...
