I was quoting from the instructions for enumerators !!
I agree quite a few ignored the instruction. But not in Warwickshire or in
fact Worcestershire -

I just wanted to say that not all 1841 enumerators recalculated the ages of
adults. In fact in my experience very few have done this. My experience
though relates to Derbyshire Yorkshire Staffordshire and Cumberland
