Phyllis BOLTON nee ROBERTS, my paternal grandmother, worked at a clothing shop in the "Arcade" in Central Birmingham in the 1920s called "Stanleys". The Arcade and shop were bombed during the War but she was sure Stanleys set up to trade again elsewhere in Birmingham. I found a Stanleys clothing shop in Erdington in Yellow Pages and thinking it too much a coincidence wrote last year to ask if there was any connection. Unfortunately I did not receive a reply.
My grandmother is 93 next month. I thought finding the shop and, who knows, any surviving records or photos, would come as a surprise. Anybody any information on Stanleys?
