I'm looking for anyone researching the family of John Wallis with sons Thomas (who married Mary) and Burr Wallis. This family lived in Prince William Co, VA, in the early 1700's. This land deed shows the connection.

PETER & ANN CORNELL WITNESS WALLIS LAND DEED 1732
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA

Thomas and Mary Wallis of Parish of Hamilton of County of Prince William…for natural love and affection that we bear unto our well beloved brother Burr Wallis….being part of land we now live and taken up by our father JOHN WALLIS deceased….branch of Marumpsco and Hoers Creek and Little Creek…to be taken from lower part of said land… 140 acres. March 1, 1732.
THOMAS X WALLIS, MARY (M) WALLIS
Witnesses:
Jonathan Anderson
Peter (P.C.) Cornel
Ann ((her mark) Cornell
At court March 22, 1732 this deed of gift was acknowledged by Thomas and Mary Wallis to Burr Wallis.

There is also a document dated 28 Feb. 1742 where Peter Cornwell, Charles Cornwell, and the widow Mary Wallis were bonded in Accomack, Virginia to settle the will of Thomas Wallis (Prince William Co (VA) Deed Book C, 1734-1744).

I am trying to determine the relationship between the Wallis family and the Cornwell family. I'm suspecting that Mary who married Thomas may be a sister of Peter and Charles. I would love to hear from anyone researching this family.

Cindy
