When I did Asotin Co. research five years ago, I found the museum in
Asotin to be very helpful as well as the records in the county court
house.
Since it appears that Grouse is more of an area than a town, he might be
buried on the family homestead.

Steve,
Thanks so much for moderating this list.
I would be glad if I helped you here in some small way.

When I visited Lewiston the first time, I was of the impression that all
of my ancestors lived in Lewiston, Nez Perce County, Idaho. I always
make it a point to visit LDS Family History Centers, Genealogy
Collections and Local Libraries when I visit Ancestral neighborhoods.
So, as always, I visited the Lewiston FHC. I was most pleased to find
that they had a whole wall of binders full of Funeral Home and Cemetery
records for both Lewiston and Clarkston. They pretty much cover burials
for both cities, both counties, both states!! It was there that I found
my Great Grandfather (whose death had remained a mystery) buried in
Clarkston!! I would highly recommend that you go to Familysearch.org
(The main LDS Family History Center Library) and look up the address,
and phone number, and hours of the Lewiston Family History Center. Call
them and verify their hours. (Most of them are closed on Mondays).
There are great records there that you don't want to miss!!

On a further note...
I then made my first trip into Clarkston, stopping at the local Library.
Upon asking, I was told that they had no genealogy section, and no
genealogy materials. After pressing for a reference section, they told
me they did have ONE book behind the county called 'The History of
Southwest Washington." (All about Asotin County. I have never seen it
anywhere else since). It was there that I found a family written history
and a picture of my Great Great Uncle, that told me the family didn't
come directly from Ireland to Ontario. They had lived for several years
in New Brunswick!! After some further research in NB, I had siblings
and a mother for my GG Grandfather.

I wish you fabulous finds on your trip to Asotin County. My ancestors
are the Rogers of Rogersburg, North of Asotin on the Snake River.

of June 22-24. I am trying to locate the grave of my 2g uncle, Victor
Bucher, who died in Grouse 9 Dec 1917. According to his death
certificate his place of burial or removal was also Grouse, Asotin,
Washington. I have looked at all the cemeteries I can find listed for
your county and have not located his grave. Any suggestions? I also
see Bucher Spring on the topographical map and I think that might be
where he lived as he and his wife were the only Buchers I have found in
the county. I know I have not given you much notice, but I hope you can
refer me to someone who can help me find Victor's grave. Thank you very
much.
