I did not have a chance to thoroughly review these 2 death records (and still
haven't).

I can tell you this much:

Maggie Hulda Mace married Alonzo B. Via in Rockingham County, Va on December
27, 1881. Alonzo was the son of Brightberry Via and Judith Hall.

Mary Mace married Clifton C. Via on January 31, 1882 in Rockingham County, Va.

I believe Clifton was the son of Dillard Via and Sally ___. His marriage
certificate says he was the son of Richard Via and Sally Via. However, there are
no Richard Via's in Albemarle or Rockingham Co at that time. Also it appears
to me that this might be a transcription error. Richard and Dillard could be
mistaken especially if the transcriber is not familiar with the name Dillard.
That would make Clifton the grandson of Clifton Via and Judith Sandridge.

Clifton C. Via in Port Republic, Rockingham Co., Va. on April 12, 1935. I am
not positive but it appears as though Mary and Clifton may have separated.
In the 1920 Rockingham Co. census Mary is living in the household with her
daughter Laura Garrison and son in law Samuel Garrison. In the 1920 Rockingham
Co. census Clifton is living in the household of his daughter Maggie Raynes and
son in law Robert Raynes. Although in 1933 Mary left a list of heirs and
Clifton was named as her husband.
