Their daughter, Sada Amelia Vertrees, married Dr. Walter Urban Kennedy. Dr. Vertrees delivered both my grandmother and my grandfather in Murrayville, IL, they went through school together where Sada was Valedictorian and continued on to MacMurry College in Jacksonville and Walter Kennedy went to St. Louis, MO and studied medicine. They were married in early 1903 and Donald Vertrees Kennedy, my father and their only child, was born Feb. 15, 1904. I am named after my father and carry the middle name of Vertrees.
I have several wills from KY, death certificates from IL, scanned images of the land grants in KY from the archives of the Commonwealth of VA giving the land in Hardin Co to the Vertrees, the VanMeters, the Chenowiths and others.
