I am researching a Jesse Veach born 1801 Kentucky married around 1830 Susan or Susannah born 1812 Tennessee. Family lived in Alabama, but he is said in census to have been born in Kentucky. After his death she relocated with children to Missouri. The family later used the name Veatch, but I am not sure whether this is a name change or correction. Jesse is shown as illiterate and a shoemaker by trade. 1860 census before his death) name is Veach. After his death it is Veatch. Susan is shown to be literate in all censuses.
