Debra Miller told me some time ago that she does not have a father for
Marshall Heflin (1819-1892), although she knows his mother was Rachel Heflin.
Recently I ran across old notes that may be relevant:
Marshall Hefflin was apparently paid $123.33 by the estate of James
Heflin, deceased, in October 1851. J. and R. Heflin received [or paid?] $10.
Nancy Hefflin purchased [?] items valued at $256.05 (Stafford County Estate
Accounts, Microfilm 01000, reel 15, section 2, before page 40).
I took these notes (which are not very good, I admit) a long time ago,
very quickly, when my library had borrowed the microfilm. Maybe someone on
the list can provide more details.
