Does anyone now anything about these Fosters in Bourbon Co., KY?
Since Harrison Foster has been traced back to Prince William Co.
I was wondering if the others may also have originated there as
well?

Bourbon Co. tax lists

1790 -- Jacob Foster
1793 -- Henry, Jacob, James, William Foster
1796 -- Harrison Foster (I have been informed that his line can
be traced back to Prince William Co., VA.)

It would appear that these Fosters all arrived in Bourbon at
about the same time, i.e. just before 1790. Was there a movement
of Fosters out of Prince William at about this time?

There is also a marriage between Nancy (Mary) Foster to Isaac
Ruddle (Ruddell) in 1790. Who were her parents?

I believe that some of the Fosters living in Ruddell twp.,
Independence Co., AR may be related to these Fosters in Bourbon
Co. They seem to have arrived in AR about the same time as
Abraham and Isaac Ruddell of Indian captivity fame.

A Verlinda Oliver was married 18 Nov. 1793 in Fauquier Co., VA to a
John Foster. She was a daughter of Hezekiah and Rebecca Oliver of
Fauquier. This John Foster was in Bourbon Co. by 1810 when he and
another brother-in-law Jesse Shumate witnessed the marriage of
another of Hezekiah and Rebecca's daughters, and may have been there
much earlier as there was a John Foster paying taxes in Bourbon from
at least 1800. John may have moved to Nelson County, KY after 1820 as
there was a John Sr and a John Jr present there later. All these
Olivers lived near the point where PW, Stafford and Fauquier
intersect.

I did some fitful research on John Foster in the '90s. Back then
there were several folks researching the Fosters from that area of VA
before moving to the Bluegrass region.
