Kathy,

Not sure how much help this will be since you're in FL. If you're ever in
the Lynchburg, VA area, visit the Jones Library. They have indexes of
obituaries covering certain years for the newspapers (more than one, but I
forget the exact number) in Lynchburg. I mention this because I've found
death notices for folks who resided in Pittsville. They probably would've
had obituaries in the Chatham and Danville newspapers at the time, but as
far as I know, the obituaries in those papers aren't indexed (but I've been
wrong before).
