Saml Vanderpool was born 1805-1810 in Tennessee. His wife, Sally was 10 years older than he, born in Kentucky.
They apper on the census for Salt Creek Twp., Monroe Co., Indiana over a 20 year period.
Children:
John Vanderpool born 1841 Indiana
Jeremiah Vanderpool born 1844 Indiana
Martha Jane Vanderpool born 1846 Indiana
My interest is in Jeremiah Vanderpool, who married Celia Todd (daughter of James Todd and Sally Dayton). Jeremiah is on the census with his parents as a young adult (1860). He enlisted in the Union Army in 1864 and died within months, leaving his widow Cecilia Vanderpool to apply for a pension.
Celia's sister, Catherine Todd, married a David Devers (son of Jesse Davar of Claiborne Co., Tennessee). Since many families traveled together and <smile> married together, I am looking for information about this particular Vanderpool family to see if they had dealings with the Devers/Davar family.
