Dear Folks,
I shouldn't have been so hasty in sending the previous e-mail.
Returning to this source, I found the following entry:

[spinster]
This information was originally published by:

I should point out that the above David Van Every wasn't the son
of McGregory Van Every, as McGregory's son, David Van Every UE (13
October 1757, Poughkeepsie, Province of New York - circa 1820, St.
George, Upper Canada) is listed with his wife, known to be Sarah
(Showers), daughter of Michael Showers UE, along with 1 child under
the age of 10 years in:
The Ontario Genealogical Society (OGS) document, "Early Settlers in
Niagara Including the First 'Census' 1782, 1783, 1784, 1786, 1787
Complete with Index",
(pp. 19 - 20):
"On July 21 [1784] DePeyster sent to Haldimand a 'list of
Subscribers' and the information that 'the surveyor has not finished
his survey which is attended with great inconvenience to him . so soon
as the survey is finished the Lots shall be drawn for, and the oaths
taken conformable to orders.' (Haldimand Papers B 103 p. 451)"
"In these lists, (Haldimand Papers B 168 p. 328 on) column 1 is
the men, 2: women, 3: children over 10, and 4: children under 10 and
the last column is Rations per day. (These lists have been referred to
as the 'DePeyster Lists'. Editor)."
"List of the Persons who have Subscribed their names in order to
settle and cultivate the crown lands opposite Niagara. July 20th
1784."
"Settlers who are to receive rations to 24th Dec'r next:"
[five names including]
"Adam Young 1 [man] 1 [woman] 2 [Rations per day]
"No. 2. Young Settlers, Loyalists and Brant's Volunteers who receive
Rations:"
"Jordan Every 1 [man] 1 [woman] 2 [children over 10] 4 [Rations
per day]
"No. 3."
"David VanEvery 1 [man] 1 [woman] 2 [children under 10] 3 [Rations
per day]
[son of McGregory Van Every]
"Daniel Young 1 [man] 1 [woman] 1 [children under 10] 2 ½ [Rations
per day]
[son of Adam Young]
"John Young 1 [man] 1 [Rations per day]
[son of Adam Young]
"No. 5. Disbanded Rangers etc."
"Henry Young 1 [man] 1 [woman] 2 [Rations per day]
[son of Adam Young]
"Benj'm VanEvery 1 [man] 1 [Rations per day]
[son of McGregory Van Every]
"McGregory VanEvery 1 [man] 1 [Rations per day]
This is probably their eldest child, David Van Every Junior, born in
1782 (Piersol, 1947, p. 43). Piersol (1947, pp. 43 - 44) lists the
other children of David Van Every UE & Sarah (Showers) Van Every as
follows: Hannah Van Every (1783 - ); Samuel Van Every (circa
5 - ); John Van Every (circa 1786 - ); Michael Van Every
790 - ); Charles Van Every (1797 - ); William Van Every
92 - ); Peter Van Every (circa 1794 - ); Mary Van Every
- ); and Andrew Van Every (1798 - 1873).
