Dear Sharilyn,

Am most concerned to hear about your son. Hope things improve. I
have wondered about your absence from the Van Every discussion group
for the past number of weeks (although there certainly hasn't been the
flurry of interactions that we all enjoyed so much a few months ago)
and, now knowing the cause of your absence, will remember you and your
son in our prayers.

Hope you don't mind my posting your message on the Rootsweb site
for the Van Every family. You have a number of Van Every genealogical
researchers who thoroughly enjoy hearing from you.

By the way, the spring issue of the "Loyalist Gazette" is just now
being distributed to the members of the UELAC. I received my copy on
Friday and was very gratified to see the manner in which my article
was published - complete with no less than eight photographs. Will
make enquiries as how to order copies if you're interested in
obtaining one.

Am meeting with Professor Hughes on Friday at 1:00 p.m., in his
office at Brock University, St. Catharines. We had a most friendly
conversation on the phone tonight. When I mentioned the fact that Mary
Ann Little had attended a conference wherein someone had spoken about
the farming practices of McGregory Van Every between 1782 and 1784, he
was most interested as he recalled the conversation (but quickly
stated that he couldn't remember if this to-him-unidentified woman had
indicated that McGregory Van Every was a blacksmith) as he felt that
he had inadvertently not taken advantage of following up his
conversation with her by obtaining her mailing address. Thus,
hopefully, my meeting with him on Friday will spark a renewed interest
on his part in examining the early records of Niagara Township (then
known only as Township I) and in particular, the references to
McGregory Van Every.

Cheers to all,

Bob McBride.
