Thank you so very much Sandy. It was great to see who the Bondsman were.
Her fathers name was Joseph and maybe Henry was a brother or uncle. She
named her first daughter (after the birth of two sons) Henrietta, probably
after this Henry. Funny thing though even though her fathers name was
Joseph, none of her seven children (5 boys + 2 daughters) were ever named
Joseph.

Karen, I have a copy of the book "Halifax County, Virginia Marriage Bonds
1753 - 1854, typed by the Genealogical Society of Utah. In here I find
your BOYD marriage as listed:

GROOM BRIDE DATE BONDSMAN

BOYD, George Mary HALEY 18 Apr. 1818 Henry & Joseph HALEY

This shows my ancestor George Boyd married to Mary Haley, April 18, 1818
Halifax Co., VA
