FAIRFIELD — Kenneth Earl ‘Coy’ McCoy passed away Saturday, Aug. 1 at his home in Fairfield after a brief illness.

Coy was born in Belspring, Va., to Homer and Evelyn McCoy. After
graduating high school he entered the Air Force. While stationed at
Travis Air Force Base he met his wife of 52 years, Betty Jo Parks.

After leaving the service he became an electrician, retiring from IBEW180 in 1999 after more than 40 years.

Coy was a member of the Moose Lodge and Classic Unique Car Club. He
enjoyed working on old cars, trying his luck at Cache Creek, but most
of all, following his children’s and grandchildren’s sports activities.

Coy will be remembered as a great family man and was loved by all who knew him.

Coy is survived by his wife, Betty Jo; children: Daniel (Mary), Doug
(Teri) both of Fairfield; Don (Audrena) and Kimi Hansen (Brian) both of
Vacaville; sisters JoAnn, Daisy and June; brother-in-law Roger Parks;
11 grandchildren and one great grandson. Coy was preceded in death by
his oldest son, David.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the
Fairfield Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday,
Aug. 6, at Holy Spirit Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shirners Hospitals for Children or St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
