I check the 1850 census. Jacob (age 60) & Eleanor Richardson Grubb (age 50) are in the census with these children:
William Grubb b: Abt. 1829 VA
John Grubb b: Abt. 1832 VA
Jacob Grubb b: Abt. 1834 VA
Jackson Grubb b: Abt. 1836 VA
Nancy Grubb b: Abt. 1838 VA
Joseph Grubb b: Abt. 1840 VA
Polly Grubb b: Abt. 1842 VA
Elizabeth Jane Grubb b: Jan 1846 VA (md. John A. Anderson b: Abt. 1846 Grayson Co., VA)
Then there is also another Grubb family in the 1850 census....HOH is William Grubb age 45, with wife Rosannah age 35. They are listed with these children:
Elizabeth Grubb b. Abt. 1836 VA
Mitchell Grubb b. Abt. 1838 VA
Jackson Grubb b. Abt. 1839 VA
Mary Ann Grubb b. Abt. 1841 VA
Sarah Grubb b. Abt. 1843 VA
Sadelia Grubb b. Abt. 1845 VA
Susannah Grubb b. Abt. 1847 VA
Rosamond Grubb b. Abt. Mar 1850 VA (age 6/12, census in Sept.)
and with an additional member of the household, Jeremiah Lovelace b. Abt. 1830, Laborer.
Obviously there are two different Elizabeth Grubbs. HOWEVER.....there is the matter of the 1900 census record you are talking about. HOH Jacob Grubb b. May 1834 is most likely the Jacob in the first household above. But the age of his sister Elizabeth does not agree with the age of the Elizabeth who was the sp. of Henry Haga. Of course, that's ok because in the 1900 census the Henry Haga & sp. Elizabeth living with Jacob are BOTH listed as "in-law"s to Jacob Grubb. This would indicate that rather than Elizabeth (sp. of Henry) being Jacob's sister, she was instead the sister of Jacob's wife Margaret even though she happens to be the same age as Jacob's sister Elizabeth.
Now, consider that there is an Elizabeth RHYMER and Margaret RHYMER listed as siblings in the 1850 census who are in the same age ballpark as Elizabeth sp. of Henry and Margaret sp. of Jacob. So I have to wonder if we aren't right about Henry Haga's wife being Elizabeth Rimer. I guess the only way to know for sure is to find the marriage records for Henry & Elizabeth Haga, and Margaret & Jacob Grubb, and hope it lists the parents.

I'm Confused! I hope someone can help me figure this one out.
I have Eliz. Jane Grubb b June 1846 and married to John Anderson - her
marriage says she is d/o J. & N. - Jacob & Nellie (Eleanor Richardson).
And I have in 1900 Eliz. (Grubb) & Henry Haga - saying they are
brother-in-law & sister to Jacob Haga, with his wife Margaret? So
did Jacob & Eleanor Richardson Grubb have a daughter named Jane and
married John Anderson, and another named Eliz. that married
Or where did I go wrong here?
Thanks so much for any help!
