Are you searching for the Garner family? This is my line where one of
my Lewis families fits in.

Here is a quick rundown on John Garner (1633-1702) who married Susanna
Keene (1644-1716) dau. of Thomas Keene.
John Garner came to Am at age 17 supposedly from England. 1650 by
Lewis Burwell, gent.
Livng in Northampton County, he settled west of Garners Creek near the
present village of Lewisetta in 1660. This was near the mouth of the
Coan river on a neck of land than called Cherry Point but today known
as Cowarts Point.
After they married they moved to Westmoreland County VA near the
present village of Kinsale on the Yeocomico River about 1672 where it
is thought that he died in 1702.

Militia in 1687 “....at meeting of his Majesties Justices uf the Pease
for county of Surry Xer 1687. Present Major Samll Swann, Mr Robert
Ruffin, Mr Francis Mason, M. Robert Randell, For Foot and John Garner. “

His will was written 22 Jan 1702 and probated 25 May 1702
Will proved by Vincent Garner and Philip Sherne (Northumberland Orders
p. 769. 19 May 1697

I come from daughter Mary Garner, who married the immigrant, John
Lewis (1645-1697) and this line goes on to William Lewis, VIncent
Lewis, finding them in Fairfax County VA and finally Loudoun County VA.
Here is where i am at a stand still with Sarah Lewis, daughter of
Vincent Lewis who married, as the first wife, William Stanhope
having sons , William and John Stanhope. By his third wife, Elizabeth
Wheeler, he named another son William Stanhope!!!! I come from the
former, Capt William Stanhope.
So I wonder if my Lewis Holloway of Brunswick County VA and Dinwiddie
County VA (St. Andrew's Parish) ties to this with his first name
Lewis. I believe his parents are Edward and Elizabeth Holloway. but
no proof.
