The FTP side of the Obits...SHOULD not be the same password. All Obits
should be stored with your STATE Archives file manager. This requires a
separate password and upload address.

Cyndie created a file that would allow uploads in the "short term" because of
unco-operative state hosts that weren't forthcoming with passwords or
uploading the files we sent them. The file Cyndie created to circumvent this
is in HTML space called "Text" which means the Search Engines don't pick
those files up if STORED there. It is complicated but, the Obits were only
given HTML space to store Web Pages...Those Web pages are suppose to link you
to OBITs stored in FTP space so this forces you to contact another person to
either GET them to upload your Obits or get the password to upload your text
files of Obits.

Most times you sign on to ONE site... but, not so with the Obits and I
believe the Marriage Project is in the same boat from the look of things. I
put a separate search engine at my site because of this dilemma in storage of
Obit text files. This search engine searches the entire Obit site and will
search even in HTML space. But the true Rootsweb Search Engine only Searches
FTP space.
