My Irish ancestor from Monroe County, Illinois Michael Crossen (various
spellings) came from Sligo to New York around 1812 on the brig Helen. I got this
info from others searching this family line and have found Michael in records
on ancestry but JUST recently found mere mention of Helen. So good luck, more
and more is slowly becoming available.
