I am searching for the arrival of Charles Albert Fullick in the United
States from England. He was born in 1853 in England. His wife, Margaret
Alice Fullick (age 23) and two children, Bertha (age 6) and Simpson
(infant), arrived at Boston on 22 Nov 1881aboard the SS Batavia. They are
indexed in the arrivals at Boston, from Liverpool.

Her husband Charles Albert does not appear on the roster for the Batavia.
They are enumerated in the 1881 census for Yorkshire, so I presume Charles
preceeded his family to the US after April 1881 when the census was taken in
order to prepare for their arrival. Of course, there is the possibility he
wasn't at home when the census was taken and that it is an error in the
census. The infant Simpson was born 19 May 1881 in Yorkshire, so Charles
would have been there at least through July 1880.

The family settled in Pennsylvania, where I found them in a land purchase in
1886.

I have searched the indices for the various East Coast ports, but have not
found them anywhere. Nor have I found them in the Castle Garden entries for
New York.

If anyone has knowledge of this family or should come across them in their
own research, I'd be most appreciative if they would contact me.

I'd welcome any suggestions as to how I could proceed in searching for
Charles. He used his middle name of Albert in Yorkshire and his wife
Margaret, used her middle name of Alice in the 1881 census, but switched to
Margaret on the ship's passenger list.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Virginia
