Thelma Ulrich

(07/18/2003) Thelma Ulrich, age 64 of Johnson City, Texas, passed away on
Monday, July 14, 2003, in Austin, Texas. She was born on September 5, 1938,
to Frank and Katheryn Rhoden in Columbia, Mississippi. After her move to
Texas in 1955, she met and married F.H. ``Bozo'' Ulrich. An active member in
the community, Thelma was very involved in her children and grandchildren's
school activities and lives. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and
the First Baptist Church. Family and friends were the treasure of her heart.
She formed several close relationships with friends in Johnson City that
were very dear to her. Her heart belonged to Texas but her thoughts were
often of Mississippi. She loved unconditionally and gave of herself
unselfishly. She could be depended on to organize an event or to make an
event special. Her dream was to be a housewife and mother. Her desire was to
give everything she had and stood for to her husband and children. Her goal
was to be a friend and a lady, Her pleasure was her grandchildren. She will
be deeply missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and
Katheryn Rhoden and her brothers, Curtis Rhoden and Gene Rhoden. Survivors
include her husband of 46 years, F.H. ``Bozo'' Ulrich; her daughter, Belinda
Basse and son-in- law, Bryan; her son, Frank Ulrich and daughter-in-law
Kandi; her daughter, Donna McKennis and son-in-law, John, all of Johnson
City. She is survived by eight grandchildren; her grandsons, Michael
Guthrie, Jason Guthrie, Ryan Ulrich and Aaron McKennis. Her granddaughters,
Nichole ``Nick'' Guthrie, Mallory Ulrich, Alissa and Stephanie Basse; and
numerous nieces and nephews. She also is survived by her sister, Willie
Buchanan of Leakesville, Mississippi. Her brother, Albert Rhoden of
Columbia, Mississippi, and her sister Merle Daley of Sun, Louisiana. The
memorial service was held at the First Baptist Church on Thursday, July 17,
2003, at 2:00 p.m. The interment followed at the Masonic Cemetery in Johnson
City. Services under the direction of Crofts Funeral Home in Johnson City,
