Eva Manning Bayne

(07/15/2003) Eva Manning Bayne was born in Yoakum, Texas, on May 21, 1906,
to Edward Joseph Manning and Frances Rebecca Smith Manning. Last living of
their seven children, she passed away at her home on June 16, 2003. Earning
her BS in Education from the Texas College of Arts and Sciences in
Kingsville, Texas, on August 17, 1931, she was married on July 30, 1938, in
Austin, Texas, to Carl Richard Bayne. On August 28, 1952, she received her
Masters of Education degree from the University of Texas in Austin. She
retired in 1972 having taught in Hondo, Kingsville, El Campo, Smithville,
Houston, and the final eighteen years in Austin. A member of the American
Association of University Women (AAUW) and the Daughters of the American
Revolution, Austin Colony Chapter, she is survived by her son, William
Robert Bayne. Services were at her home June 16, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. with
the Rev. Mickey Loftis officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery
in Yoakum, Texas. Donations to the Humane Society of Austin were requested
in lieu of flowers.
