RUTLAND, VT.

B. LA POINT, IN HUNDREDTH YEAR, IS DEAD.

Completing little more than a week of his 100th year of his life, Barney
LaPoint died at 9:30 o'clock last night at the home of his son, Joseph
LaPoint of Forest street. after a brief illness. He was born January 3,
1826.
He had e a resident of this city about six years, coming here from
Westford.
Besides the son with whom he made his home he is survived by two others,
Charles LaPoint of Wheeling, W. Va., and Fred LaPoint of Fayetteville,
N. Y., a daughter, Mrs. Lillian Willey of Burlington, Vt. and a brother,
Joseph LaPoint of Georgia.
Funeral services will take place tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at
Stearns Undertaking rooms. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
