Raymond Beach
TILTON — Raymond T. Beach, 80, formerly of West Main Street, Tilton,
died at the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton on Friday, July 13, 2001.
He was born in Meredith on April 26, 1921, the son of Perley and Viola
(Harvey) Beach. Mr. Beach was raised in Meredith and resided in Franklin
for several years before moving to Tilton.
During World War II, Mr. Beach served with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a
sergeant stationed in the Yukon Territories.
Several years ago, he was employed by MA Crowley Trucking in Franklin as
a truck driver. He later drove for several years for the former Willey’s
Express in Laconia, retiring in 1978. Mr.Beach had a great interest in
trains, especially steam-powered locomotives.
He was a member of Franklin VFW Post 1698 and was a communicant of St.
Paul Church in Franklin. Mr. Beach’s wife, Genevieve (LaPlante) Beach,
died in 1995.
Family members include his son, James F. Beach of Belmont; three
daughters, Mary Weatherbee of Franklin, Genevieve Copp of Hill, and
Margaret Maheux of Weare; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a
brother, Richard Beach of Meredith; three sisters, Jennie Hunniston,
Alice Storer, and Margaret Cogan, all of Meredith; and several nieces
and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. at
Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St., Franklin. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, July 17, in St. Paul
Church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations in his memory
may be made to the New Hampshire Veterans Home, P.O. Box 229, Tilton, NH
