DOVER -- Mildred M. Pigott, 92, of 1 Hull Avenue, died Friday, Jan. 12,
at the Dover Rehabilitation & Living Center after a brief illness.
A native and lifelong resident of Dover, she was born the daughter of
James H. and Mary A. (Boyd) Grimes, was a graduate of Dover High School
and attended the University of New Hampshire.
She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Mildred was a member of St. Mary Church and the Altar & Rosary Society
of the church.
She was the widow of Herbert J. Pigott, and was also predeceased by her
daughter, Mary Jo Cavanaugh, her son-in-law, James Cavanaugh, her
brother, James Grimes, her sister, Gertrude E. Hickey and her
sister-in-law, Alexandrine Grimes.
Survivors include her cousin, Helen Brennan of Dover; several nieces and
nephews, including Jack and Marianna Grimes of Dover and James and
Mickie Grimes of Hooksett; and grandnieces and grandnephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, Jan. 15, from 2 to
4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Avenue,
Dover. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on
Tuesday, Jan. 16, at St. Mary Church, corner of Chestnut & Third Street,
with Reverend Fritz Cerullo, OSA, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will
follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
