SHIVERS - At residence 933 Jackson Avenue, Monday morning June 23 1947, at
3:00 o'clock, Mrs. H.F. Shivers, aged 52 years. Wife of H.F. Shivers; mother
of Raymond and Eugene Shivers; daughter of P.J. Oneill; sister of Mrs. W.T.
Johnson and Mrs. D.A. Scruggs, all of this city. Funeral cortege will
proceed from the National Funeral Home 1177 Union Avenue tommorrow
(Wednesday) morning at 10:00 o'clock. Requiem mass will be celebrated at
Little Flower Catholic Church (corner Jackson Avenue and Belvedere St.) at
10:30 o'clock. Friends are invited. Internment in Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Eddie Maude Redditt, 84 of 9454 Raleigh LaGrange Road, widow of Charles
Albert Redditt, at 6:30 am today at Baptist Hospital. She was a member of
Bethany Christian Church. She leaves three sons, William R. Redditt, Albert
P Redditt and Eddie Gene Redditt, all of Cordova Tenn.; a daughter, Mrs.
Jewel Baker of Cordova, a sister, Mrs. Buena Hamby of Ellendale; 11
grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Collierville Funeral Home in
Collierville.

Mrs. Evelyn Shivers, 55 of 651 Rouge Bluff, Apt 2, widow of Robert Shivers,
died Monday at her home. Family Mortuary has charge. She leaves a son,
Ronnie Shivers, her mother, Mrs. Estella McNary, and four sisters, Mrs Annie
V Hilliard, Mrs Mary E Davis, Mrs. Geraldine Hooker and Miss Eloise McNary,
all of Memphis, four brothers, Jessie McNary Jr of Waco Texas, Robert Lee
Bryant and Joe Bryant, both of Gary Ind. and John L Bryant of Memphis

Mrs. Emma Shivers McPherson, 91 of Memphis died Friday at Germantown
Community Hospital-Methodist East. Services will be at 10 am Monday at
Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park. She was a member of
Raleigh Christian Church and a former member of Daughters of the United
Confederacy. Mrs McPherson, the widow of William Eldridge McPherson, leaves
a daughter, Mrs Velma Howard of Memphis, a son, William E McPherson Jr. of
Germantown, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family asks
that any memorials be made to Raleigh Christian Church.

his father Lloyd Shivers and a brother, Bryan Shivers, all of Mario, his
grandparents, Mrs Bessie Reesor of Heber Springs and Mr. and Mrs Walter
Rimer of West Memphis Ark.

Napoleon A. Strickland. of 749 Freeman will be buried in Memorial Park this
afternoon. Christian Science services will be read at 1 PM at Cosmopolitan
Funeral Home by Mrs Evelyn D Grove. Mr. Strickland died Friday night at his
home, He was 68. He was born in Lee City Ky and had lived in Memphis about
27 years. He had worked as a barber and was formerly in the real estate
business associated with R.N. Wallace. He was a Christian Scientist and a
Mason. He leaves his wife, Mrs ILA Pendergrass Strickland, two sons, Roger B
Strickland of Memphis and Eric L Strickland of Knoxville, a daughter Mrs
Jeannetta Underwood of Middletown Ohio, two brothers, John H Strickland of
Dayton Ohio and Fletis Strickland of North Carolina and a sister, Mrs Alice
Woods of Franklin Ohio.
