Subject: [UK-W&H] Lost Aunt - Annie Brown
Date: Sun, 23 Jul 2000 16:10:31 -0300
Some time ago I found a list of occupants at 43 Green St., Barony, Lanark Scotland on the 1881 UK Census. On further searching of the list I think I have found my missing Aunt, Annie Brown among the hundreds listed.
She is shown as :
Annie Brown age 13 from Glasgow, Scotland
The source is: FHL Film 0203644, Vol. 644-4 Enum Dist. 80 Page 22
QUESTION - Is there any way of identifying the Institution and the parents of this child?
If this is the right Annie Brown, she was born 29 July 1877and her parents would be "Robert Livingstone BROWN - Father and Ann(ie) BROWN (Donabie) Mother both of Glasgow.
The two boys in the family, Robert Livingstone BROWN and Peter Donabie BROWN were lodged with the Quarrier Organization before Peter was sent to Canada in 1891 and Robert ran away.
Hoping to find a missing Aunt.
Stuart Livingstone BROWN, Nova Scotia, Canada
Searching for BROWN, DONABIE, HOUSTON, MAITLAND AND LIVINGSTONE families in Scotland.
