Hello from Australia Renee. You can check out the 1901 Census on line at
www.censuspro.gov.uk
I looked, William is there
aged 41
born Durham, Lumley
Admin County Durham
Civil Parish Chester le Street
Occupation Blacksmith
When you find him. put the arrow of the mouse over the yellow sign under
'image' to the left of his name. You will be able to see a number at the
bottom of your screen. Take a note of it and as you bring up other names, do
the same and when the numbers match you will have verified another member.
Be warned though, if you stop in the middle of a search and go back later,
the numbers will have changed. HTH
Cheers, Bob in Australia.
