Shawn, this happens quite often.
If "Tonyrefail" is the town name and the same as the Civil Parish it need
not be duplicated. Where you have a Building name as well as the steet, the
Building name can also be put into the "Notes" column if you cant squeeze it
in to the Address.
All the best

Subject: [UK-CENSUS] Address too long... RG12/4418 GLA SS-CENS

Hi all,

I have just volunteered as a transcriber for FreeCEN. I have come across a
number of addresses that are too long to fit in the address column. (column
G 30 character limit).

There are no house numbers. The addresses consist of Village Name, Road
Name, House Name.

Can I abbreviate, or should I leave an item out ? If so, which one ?
Some of the house names are also Taverns or Hotels.

Each item of information seems to critical to omit.

Examples of the address are:

Civil Parish: Llantrisant
Address: Tonyrefail, Chapel Rd, Boars Head Hotel
Address: Tonyrefail, Chapel Rd, Pentre Cottage
Address: Tonyrefail, Chaple Rd, Maesteg Cottage
Address: Tonyrefail, Chapel Rd, Vicarage
.........123456789012345678901234567890

What should I do ?
