alan dicks asked:
<<I have an individual summary report for 1 person that has 5 birth
events
not relevant to him, although they all have the same individuals name.
The
5 dates all relate to grand parents and ggrandparents dates. The birth
events on the individual entry don't show any of these dates so I'm
unable to edit them out. Does any body know how to do this? On another
note, reading through UFT Tree faq's can I up grade my uk version
2.91 to 3.0 or 3.1, not sure which download to use.
Would be grateful for any advice,>>
Alan,
Last question first: There is no free upgrade from 2.9. If
possible, I would suggest try to aquire a copy of 3.0 (they sometimes
pop up on eBay for about $10) and then upgrading to 3.1 from the
Portland Roots User Group web site.
The upgrade, though, should not affect your problem.
My first approach would be to look at all the events associated
with your individual. Press Shift-F8 to get a list of all his events. Do
you see the unwanted events in that list? To view a particular event,
scroll down to the event (or select it with your mouse) and press F8.
You can see what role the individual is linked to, and you can scroll to
the other individuals linked to the event to find their role. Who or
which ones are flagged as "Principal"? You can go to any individual by
selecting them in the role list and then clicking on the "Go" button. If
you go to a "Principal" individual for the event, you can select the
event from that individual's screen and correct any errors. For example,
if an unwanted person is linked to the event, find that person in the
role list and erase his name from that role.
I suspect that may be the way to solve your problem. If not, I
think we need more information on what the problem looks like to you.
