From all reports I've heard it works fine on XP, and
perhaps better than it did in Win98. I can't speak
from experience, I have Win98. But I've heard nothing
against using it with XP.
The current version of UFT is v. 3.01. The last
version produced on disc was 3.0. 3.01 is a free
download upgrade for those with 3.0, and is a bug fix
only. If you have 3.0 but not 3.1, it is advised that
you download and apply the update. It can be found at
<www.rootsusers.org>
UFT was discontinued several years ago, and further
upgrades will NOT be made. Tech support has been
discontinued, and I think the web-site for UFT was
taken down recently. A good number of UFT users have
switched to The Master Genealogist (TMG). However
there is no reason why UFT can't be used to great
advantage in recording a family tree. It was regarded
as one of the best pieces of genealogical software
available, and that hasn't changed. The owners gave
up on it when they had serious difficulties in
upgrading it to a 32-bit program (it remains 16-bit).

User of the two best genealogical programs--
UFT 2.8, TMG 4.0d & 5.09.
