Go to this page to view a pix of the no-longer-exisiting cemetery. Also a
description on how to find the location. It gives some info and background.

I will check the paper for an obit when I have a chance.

Hi Judy,

Check with the local sheirff about trying to access this cemetery. Just
tell him that you are wanting to look at the headstones to see if this
ancestor is in there. He might go out there with you to make sure you have
access.

Hi, all. It's so wonderful to find a mailing list that is still so active. I
an't believe the information you've supplied in just a couple hours.
mazing!
In looking at the contributing cause of death, do you think toxic poisen
ould mean severe alcoholism? Thanks, Judy

Judy,

His death certificate says he is buried in Kristenstad Cemetery. I'll
send you an e-mail with it attached.

Go to http://www.granburydepot.org/home/HCGShomePage.htm click on Cemetery
Records in the left hand column and then look for the cemetery name.

Hi,
Am searching for information on John H. FOSS, born March 18, 1858 in
Norway and died in Hood Co., TX December 21, 1932. Apparently he was
murdered, and was buried in an unknown location before family in North
Dakota was even aware of his death. I found his death listed on the Hood
county deaths index from 1903-2000.

Son Peder Foss made a trip to Texas to investigate the murder and found
out nothing. I'm told John owned a pecan orchard at or near Donna, TX., so
Peder may have investigated in Hidalgo, the wrong county. Family was
informed years later of land he owned at Donna, TX. They are not aware of
what happened to the land.

John's wife Pernelle apparently left him in Texas, possibly even before
1920, and returned to ND to live with her son until her death in 1935. It
apparently wasn't a happy marriage.

I've gleaned this information from a grand-daughter and am hoping to
provide more information to her as a distraction. She is right now dealing
with her husband's terminal cancer and can use any distraction from that
stress.

If anyone has any information on this murder, or a newspaper exists that
might have mentioned it, I would be so grateful. Thanks so much. Judy Olson
